At first, we discussed that we wanted to make jewerly or something related to books. But we realized jewelery is mainly an appeal to only half of the population and it could possibly have a lot of competition in TREP$ expo. So instead, we decided that we wanted to make bookmarks. But one day, one of our group members realized she had trouble reading in the dark. So our group decided to make light up bookmark to help people with both marking a page and reading in the dark. We researched the best options for how to make them light up with little to no plastic involved. When the prototype was first made, we ran into a few issues, which were later resolved in the second prototype.
